Volunteer Opportunities

Fayetteville Academy Parents Association serves the very essential function of liaison between parents and the school.   Monthly meetings are held the first Monday of every month from 8:15-9:15 AM in the cafeteria. The purpose of these meetings is to increase communication between the school and parents and to discuss school-wide projects.

The Executive Committee of FAPA consists of the FAPA President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Big Friends, Little Friends (Jordan Capps, Chair) (15)

assign students to be Big Friends to younger students (Little Friends) and plan activities throughout the year.

 

Calendar (Chair needed) (15)

Coordinate and execute planning and distribution of the school calendar for the 2019-2020 school year. Solicit local businesses for ads.

 

Eagle Club (Millie Keener, President) (15)

The Eagle Club is composed of parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the Fayetteville Academy with the focus of providing spirit and funding for athletics,

 

Field Day (Kelly Stout, Chair) (15)

Assist with planning, setting up and coordinating lunch for all students and teachers for this annual event to be held in May. The SGA President, PE teacher, and Head of Lower School will plan the events.

 

Fine Arts Boosters (Jordan Capps, Chair) (15)

Promote the performances/shows of the arts, including band, chorus, and visual arts and lend support and assistance to the fine arts teachers. Faculty liaison is Deborah Reavis.

Graduation Reception (Chair needed) (15)

Plan graduation reception and order flower arrangement for the altar at the church.

 

Hospitality (Molly Alderman & Many Brown, co-chairs (15)

Coordinate and provide refreshments for the New Student/Family Orientation and Back to School Night, both in August, and host one school-wide social event.

Incentives & Box Tops (Jessica Rose) (15)

Coordinate the following fundraisers: Manage the Box Top program to include planning events/programs to increase participation. Family Night out at restaurants and Penny Wars.

Military Appreciation (Chair needed) (15)

Host a Military Appreciation breakfast and coordinate a Military Appreciation (Citizenship) school-wide event. Faculty liaison is Christie Rains.

 

Movie Nights (Lindsay Ryan & Jessica Rose, co-chairs) (15)

Coordinate and execute 1-2 movie nights per school year.

 

New Student/Parent Orientation (Chair needed) (15)

Plan and execute this event in Augusts 2019 from 8:00-10:30 a.m. No work is required until next summer.

Spirit Wear (Meredith Wiles, Chair) (15)

Manage the online store (a minimum of 2 sales), to include coordinating with The Trophy House and sorting orders when they are delivered to the school. Maintain the Spirit Wear display case outside the Lower School library.

 

Teacher Appreciation (Mary Jon Barkman, Chair) (15)

Coordinate and host a faculty/staff appreciation breakfast in December and a faculty/staff appreciation luncheon in May and distribute "Teacher Favorites" form to all teachers, as well as maintain the binder.
