Wissahickon Creek Clean Up

Volunteer on Saturday, April 27, 2019 for WVWA's 49th annual Creek Clean Up of the Wissahickon Creek and its many tributaries! This program is great for families, friends, scouts, school groups and anyone who loves the environment and clean water. For the past several years, WVWA has partnered with the Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) to clean the Creek from top to bottom!

All volunteers are pre-assigned to sections of the Creek and trail. Use this SignUp Genius form to sign up for a section. Each section lists the clean up location, how many cars can park there and the number of recommended volunteers.

To see a full list of sites with a map, visit our website. Maps include where to park, start cleaning, stop cleaning and leave the trash you collect.

Volunteers can pick-up their bags, gloves, and vests ahead of time at WVWA’s headquarters the week of 4/22 to 4/26 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Waivers for participants can be downloaded from our website.

Most participants begin cleaning around 9:00 a.m., but that time is flexible, it is up to your group to decide when to stop and start. Report to directly to your assigned section.

Picnic: Following the clean up, WVWA & FOW invite all of the participants to join us at the “Talkin’ Trash” picnic from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to satisfy appetites and share stories. It will be in Fort Washington State Park at the pavilion near the Militia Hill L-3 parking lot. Click here for the map.
