Franklin Food Pantry Backpack Volunteers
With no access to school-provided meals on the weekends, some families struggle to provide enough food for their kids. The Weekend Backpack Program is a partnership between Franklin Public Schools and the Franklin Food Pantry to provide free weekend food for kids in need. With enough food to eat, kids have the energy to do better in school, enjoy their friends, and are absent less often. Overall, they are healthier – physically and emotionally.
The Franklin Food Pantry is currently looking for volunteers to pack food in backpacks to support our community Weekend Backpack Program which provides students K-5 with weekend food. Packing nights will take place weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30pm. Please sign up below to be a part of this community initiative. By signing up to volunteer you are also giving permission to receive Franklin Food Pantry communications. You may unsubscribe at any time. In the event of school cancellation due to inclement weather the packing night will be canceled. For further questions, email [email protected]
Please note: Due to privacy concerns this is an adult only volunteer opportunity. Additionally, sign ups are only for individuals. If your company or organization is interested in participating, please contact [email protected] for scheduling. Thank you for your support!
