Shrimp Festival Volunteer Opportunities 2019

Please join us in making the 56th Annual 2019 Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival the best yet!

Volunteers are needed in multiple areas over the course of several days before, during and after the festival from April 28th - May 5th, 2019.

Choose as many dates/times as you would like and please read the comments/descriptions to make sure you are physically able to handle the responsibilities of the duties assigned.

PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must download the "2019 Volunteer Participation Agreement" available for download at this site or in the Forms section of the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival website at www.shrimpfestival.com and present the signed copy to the Volunteer Coordinator when you show up for your shift.  The completed form may also be emailed to the Director of Hospitality address link below. Any volunteer that shows up for their shift(s) without a signed agreement on hand or on file will not be able to participate. 

ALSO NOTE:  Minor children must have a parent or guardian sign as the authorized signature.

Volunteers will be required to put up traffic signs on various streets downtown. Volunteers must be able to be on their feet, walk several blocks and follow instructions of logistics director.

Volunteers will be required to place and install barricades/bicycle fencing around Central Park under the direction of logistics director. Volunteers are required to be able to lift 20 lbs., possess stamina and work as a team. Teams are encouraged.

Volunteers will be required to lift and place wooden table toppers on trash cans placed around the Riverfront and food booth areas in various locations. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Volunteers are required to be physically able to break down barricades/metal bicycle fencing, wooden barricades,and walk several blocks. Volunteers must possess stamina, ability to work as a team and follow directions. Teams are encouraged to sign up.

 
5:00pm - 8:00pm  

General Clean-up (5)

Volunteers will be required to follow direction with duties including but not limited to; folding up tents, sorting signs, picking up trash, folding and stacking chairs, cleaning table toppers, etc.

 
Merchandise  6:00pm - 7:30pm

Volunteers will be required to load and unload boxes of merchandise as directed into storage vehicles. Boxes can exceed 20 lbs.
