On the 4th Thursday of each month individuals from Fairfax UMC provide lunch for the guests of the lamb center. The lamb center is a local ministry that provides important services to the local homeless population such as meals, showers, clothing and other social services. We are looking for individuals who will purchase (reimbursement is provided by the church), prepare, and deliver labeled sandwiches (such as turkey, ham, chicken etc.), chips, fruit, a veggie, and bottle of juice for 50 guests. The meal must be delivered to the lamb center by 11:00 am on the 4th Thursday of the month. You are not required to enter the lamb center, volunteers will come and retrieve the meals from your vehicle.
There are three different ways to serve in this ministry, as a shopper, meal assembler or meal deliverer. Please feel free to sign up for one or all of the slots for a given month. This is a great project for families to complete together or a group of seperate individuals. if you are an individual completing only one of the tasks, please cordinate with your fellow volunteers.
If you are dropping off donations of the food or other supplies but would prefer not to come inside the lamb center, feel free to call at 703-691-3178 while in the parking lot and someone will come out to your vehicle to pick your donation up.
