Great Chicago Fire Invitational
Mock Trial is collegiate academic competition in which teams are giving a fictional case for which they must prepare a prosecution and defense (this year's case involves negligence resulting in a wrongful death). The proceedings unfold as an actual case does in real life (openings, direct and cross examinations, as well as closings). However, in order to determine which team wins, we need judges - that's you!!
The 5th annual GCFI Mock Trial tournament will be held the 12th-13th of January 2018 at the Richard J. Daley Center courthouses. As always the judges will receive a FREE LUNCH (on both days), with gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Every year we have many first time judges, who have never participated in a mock trial in any capacity, and without fail they always leave wanting to come back next year!
Judging at our tournament qualifies as Pro Bono hours for law students, provided your school agrees.
We would love to have judges sign up for as many slots as possible, however, any amount of participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
