Non Family Event Volunteers

2018 DAY OF Misericordia Family Fest

Dear Misericordia Families & Friends,

It’s time again to recruit volunteers for our Annual Family Fest on Sunday, September 9th, 2018.

As you know our Fest is loved by many and we are once again expecting thousands and thousands of people from all around Chicago and the suburbs to flock to our campus for a wonderful afternoon of food, fun, drink, live entertainment, kids games, rides, bingo, auctions, raffles, shopping and more. This one day event takes approximately 2,000 volunteers to pull it off and your help would be greatly appreciated.

TIME COMMITMENTS - Volunteer shifts are generally broken down into 2 ½ -3 hours. If you wish to sign up for more than one volunteer shift please be sure that the shifts do not overlap so you can meet both areas shift requirements.

HOW TO SIGN UP - If you are able to help with any of these opportunities, please sign up directly on this page. To do so, simply check the "Sign Up" box next to the opportunity you are committing to help with and then be sure to click on the "Submit and Sign Up" box at the bottom of the page. You will then advance to the next screen to complete your sign up and click submit again.

PLEASE HELP YOUR FAMILY/ FRIEND - If you have parents or family members that do not use the computer please look out for them by discussing the openings, creating an account for them (using their contact info but your email address) and then sign them up online as soon as possible.  Some opportunities will fill very quickly.

MINIMUM VOLUNTEER AGE - Volunteers ages 12 through adult are needed and welcome, however opportunities for the younger volunteers will be more limited. Some volunteer areas require volunteers of a minimum age so please be sure to read the description carefully. ~ Fest is a great opportunity for both individuals as well as groups to be involved. Opportunities are filled on a first come first serve basis so we encourage you to respond ASAP.

DON'T SEE YOUR VOLUNTEER AREA LISTED? If you volunteer for an area that is NOT listed below, it is because the booth/area coordinator does not ask the volunteer office to recruit or channel them any volunteers. Please connect directly with your area coordinator to let that person know you are on board to help again this year.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to safety issues and space constraints it is necessary that families not have your Mis resident family member accompany you during your volunteer shift.

MIS NEEDS NEW HELP!   PLEEEASE CONSIDER BEING A FEST LEADER? - We are currently looking for persons/families to step up and “coordinate” these areas of Fest; In-Crowd Entertainment Dressing Room and S & C Parking Lot Detail

In-Crowd Entertainment Dressing Room - Our In-Crowd Entertainment is always sure to brighten people's days! With that, we are looking for a 2-person team to work the behind the scenes in our entertainment dressing room. No sewing experience is necessary! The Volunteer Office is happy to channel your volunteer support, we need someone to oversee this room. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please contact us!

Parking Lot Detail - Parking is such an important part of the success of our Family Fest each year and we are hoping that a family or group will be willing to share this awesome task. You would oversee the organization of guest parking and shuttle pick-ups across the street in the S & C Electric Co parking lot. We are looking for a coordinator to assume this responsibility for half of the day. The Volunteer Office is happy to channel you volunteer support, we simply need someone to oversee and direct the parking lot volunteers leading up to the day and the day of the event when they show up.

If you/your family would be willing to co-coordinate either of these responsibilities or you would like to at least hear more about what it entails before committing, please call the Volunteer Office at 773-273-4161.

Thanks for your consideration and we hope to see you at Fest!
