On January 11, 2019, WikiTree members will kick off the new year with a 72-hour photo scanning and uploading marathon and invites genealogists and family historians from around the world to participate.
The goal of the Scan-a-Thon is to scan and upload photos along with other items such as letters, postcards, ephemera, funeral cards, and primary documents. Like a marathon, this is a competition, but most participants won't be serious competitors. Most will be doing it for the sake of preserving their family history and enriching their ancestors' profiles.
The Scan-a-Thon will take place from January 11, 2019, 8 am (ET), to January 14, 2019, 8 am (ET).
You can participate by spending time over those 72 hours scanning and uploading family history items that you have in your possession.
WikiTree will be hosting video chats every few hours with updates and guests. Check out the schedule and click the links to watch!
