Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Massachusetts Horticultural Society at the Boston Flower & Garden Show. This year's Show, themed "The Beauty of Balance," begins on Wednesday, March 13 and runs through Sunday, March 17, 2019. It is held at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
The Flower Show is Mass Hort's largest outreach opportunity of the year. It allows us to connect with over 50,000 people - budding horticulturalists, Mass Hort members and supporters, floral designers, green enthusiasts and those just happy to dream of their gardens in the middle of winter. We aim to inspire, educate, and connect visitors to our mission and encourage them to join our community and support our mission through membership to Mass Hort.
To reach all of these people, we need your help - to set up and build our exhibits and competitions the weekend before the Show, and to help staff our exhibits at the Show. It is a fun way to see the Show behind the scenes, support our mission, and meet others that share a passion for plants.
Mass Hort’s exhibit, titled ‘The Golden Mean’, presents a small backyard retreat that offers the ambiance of a peaceful tropical island spa. Our educational display partners with the New England Society of Botanical Artists to explore a mathematical concept, the Golden Ratio, which reveals the harmony of proportion and beauty. Gorgeous botanical illustrations will demonstrate how this concept explains the intricate beauty and symmetry of the natural growth patterns of plants.
Please check out our volunteer oppportunities below. Once you sign up, you will receive email reminders about your shift(s) and directions and instructions prior to the Show. If you are interested in carpooling with fellow volunteers, please note on your sign up "carpooling" and email [email protected]
We hope you will join us for an awakening of the senses in the middle of March! Thank you for donating your time to support Mass Hort's mission.
