The Salvation Army Pt. Leyden/Lyons Falls Service Volunteers
Thank you for joining the team helping The Salvation Army's Pt. Leyden/Lyons Falls Service Unit ring the bell to help your community! Last year, thanks to you and many wonderful people like you, we raised over $1500 to help your neighbors that needed help with rent, food, clothing, medical expenses and utilities. We spent over $2000 in meeting those needs, so we will always need your help!
The Service Extension program was started decades ago to "extend" the services of The Salvation Army into rural communities located too far from our Corps, like in Watertown. It works because it is a "grass roots" committee of people within the community reaching out to help their neighbors, using The Salvation Army's programs.
The Salvation Army' Service Extension program is made up of volunteers that join our committee and work hard to raise the funds and then use the money right there in your community. The Port Leyden/Lyons Falls Service Unit was revived a few years ago thanks to Donna Pfendler and Chris & Jim Chaufty. If you'd like to learn more about the Service Unit, call or email the Regional Services Coordinator, Sam Reeder at (315-877-6079) or [email protected].
If you'd like to help the Lowville Service Unit, you can go to www.bit.ly/LowvilleRedKettles2018 and ring at Walmart and/or Top's. Both the Lowville and Pt. Lyden/Lyons Falls units and volunteers work together to make sure that all Lewis County residents receive the help that they need. They are a great team! We're also looking for a County Chairperson and more committee members! We are very grateful to Cliff's, Lyons Falls Pharmacy, Top's and Walmart for welcoming us to ring at their locations-they are fantastic community supporters!
Thank you again for Doing The Most Good!
