Open Actions 2019 Team
Open Actions is a weekend arts program centred around six participatory artworks that reveal and revel in the richness of the Enoggera Reservoir.
Nine local contemporary artists have created new work to respond directly to the location and engage with the surroundings in a dialogue that reflects on our relationship to water, its health and cycle, use and management. Cement mixers filled with rushing water, dingos guarding the dam, a mini water slide for giant ice cubes, bushwalks with poets, an immersive soundtrack and exclusive album release, the day-long art experience will be something a little bit different and a little bit wonderful for folks of all sorts and ages to engage with and enjoy.
In addition to the art, the Open Actions’ Hub will offer visitors a place to chill out thanks to new furniture designs from local design studio, Five Mile Radius, and tunes inspired by the dam from local creative, Joseph Burgess.
On behalf of the Open Actions 2019 artists, people+artist+place are currently seeking volunteers to help us deliver the program Sat 16 - Sun 17 November at the Enoggera Reservoir. We are looking for confident, capable and caring people who might be able to offer their time for a shift or two.
Volunteers will be:
required to wear a volunteer shirt
engage with the public
assist the artists, producers and tech crew as directed
assist with set up and pack up
Please note, the site is quite big, so volunteers are likely to be doing quite a bit of walking so a base level of fitness will be required.
If you'd like to volunteer some of your time, please sign up below.
Location: The Event Lawn, Enoggera Reservoir - 60 Mt Nebo Rd, Enoggera Reservoir.
