Religious Education Volunteers
As 2019 starts, Faith Formation continues to encourage Religious Education parents and volunteer parishioners to assist with keeping our students and morning Mass attendees safe each Sunday.
- Sunday mornings of Religious Education, we need three to four regular volunteers helping direct traffic after the 9:00 Mass. The parking lot can get very busy as folks drop off their children at the same time Mass lets out. In an effort to keep everyone safe, we utilize these friendly volunteers.
- We also like having one to two additional helpers at 8:00pm dismissal of our evening classes. This would be a different set of volunteers but one can certainly sign up for both! Especially during the winter months and early darkness, it is so nice to have extra adults making sure kids are not just running to a parked parent.
- On Sundays, when the students are in their classes (both morning and evening) the school building is only accessible at the main entrance. If visitors arrive after start time, they must check in at the window and sign in before being able to enter the building from that area. To maintain this safety procedure, we need a regular volunteer to sit at this window each Sunday. One in the morning and one in the evening.
Ideally we would have the same folks volunteer on a rotational basis. (first Sunday of the month, second Sunday etc) This time counts as service hours and does not take long each Sunday. Consider finding a group of friends with whom you can work or share the responsibility every other week.
