Sawnee Ballet Theatre
Open auditions for SBT’s company are held every spring at Sawnee School of Ballet. Acceptance is by audition and /or invitation based upon the dancers: technique, strength, body placement, and maturity.
In preparation for the May 8 open auditions, SBT is offering a series of Audition Prep classes and a Mock Audition. These offerings are not required in order to audition.
The two hour audition prep classes will be taught by Miss Teresa and are $25 each. The Mock Audition is $15 and will be given by an instructor outside of SBT/SSB.
For the Saturday, May 8 audition:
Dancers should arrive at least 30 minutes early to sign in, receive and pin on assigned audition number, and warm up in Studio 3. Dancers should bring ballet slippers and pointe shoes. Hair should be slicked back in a bun. Light make up is encouraged.
- Returning SBT Company members must audition at the above suggested level
- Dancers in Beginning Pointe, Intermediate Pointe, or are new to Sawnee Ballet should audition at 9:30 am unless otherwise instructed by the artistic director
- Dancers should be prepared to stay for the next audition in case asked by the adjudicators
