Joey Powers Leukemia Project
The Lax Against Leukemia is a preseason high school lacrosse tournaments hosted each year by the Joey Powers Leukemia Project. Volunteers are needed to work tournament fields, keeping time, assisting teams / players, staff admissions tables, sell raffle tickets, and supervise games.
The Joey Powers Leukemia Project headquartered in Bradenton, Florida is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 2010. Joey's cousin Bradley and Joey's aunt Molly Clothier established the Joey Powers Leukemia Project in honor of Joey who passed away in 2010 at the age of 16 from leukemia. Joey attended Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida, where he was a member of the school’s first varsity lacrosse team.
The Joey Powers Leukemia Project's mission is to support families affected by pediatric leukemia by
providing financial, educational and emotional support. The Joey Powers Leukemia Project is committed to raising awareness about this devastating disease. We are determined to make a difference in the lives of others just as Joey would have chosen to do with his life. For more information about JPLP, please visit: www.joeypowersleukemiaproject.org.
