Spring Festival: This is a new 2020/21 event scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2021, that is taking the place of the Holiday Extravaganza and the Spring Flea Market/Vendor Fair. Setup for the event will take place on Friday, May 7. We need people to help with various areas, such as Cookie Walk, Sundaes, the Band Dads' Cafe (see below), and people to shadow the current Chairpersons and take over the HE in the fall/winter of 2021.
Festival Advertising: Writing and placing ads in various publications to promote the Spring Festival (former Holiday Extravaganza and Flea Market). This committee is in need of a Lead and can be done by 1-2 volunteers.
Band Dads' Cafe: Help to work the concession stand for the Spring Festival (formerly the Holiday Extravaganza and the Flea Market). The Cafe needs a Chairperson(s).
Band Banquet: Plan this season-ending event to celebrate the members of the band! This takes place in November at the High School. Moved to May for 2020/21.
Pie Sales: Unload the pies from the truck when they arrive and organize them for pick up. This event takes place at the High School in November and March.
HBA Board: We will have three HBA Board members graduating in 2021. If you are interested in serving on next year's HBA Board, please contact the Board ASAP.
Flea Market & Vendor Fair (see Spring Festival for 2021): Help with the organization and execution of the event, including set-up, tear-down, food service, etc. This event is scheduled in the Spring at the High School. This event still needs a chairperson.
Holiday Extravaganza (see Spring Festival for 2021): The biggest fundraiser of the year needs your help with a variety of sub-committees including crafts, sundaes, ticket sales, and more! This event will run on a Saturday in November or December at the High School, with additional help needed the Friday before for set-up after school. We are looking for volunteers to shadow our current chairs and take-over in 2021.
Nursing/Medical Volunteers (not needed for 2020): RN's, Paramedics, EMT's needed to volunteer to accompany the Band to various events.
Uniform Distribution & Collection (cancelled for 2020): Come before/after a game or performance to distribute uniforms to/collect uniforms from the students, or after help organize the uniforms. This takes place at the rear of the high school, outside of the band room. We are looking for a volunteer or two to oversee distribution since Sue has chaperone duties now.
Uniform Fitting (completed for 2020): Help fit students for band uniforms in July. Looking for someone to shadow and slowly take over for Sue and Karen.
Pizza Home Games (cancelled for 2020): Distribute pizza to some hungry students after the half time performance at home football games. Looking for someone to shadow and take over next year.
Band Camp Picnic (cancelled for 2020): Volunteer for the picnic on the last day of Band Camp, August 14. Looking for someone to shadow and take over next year.
Homecoming Picnic (cancelled for 2020): Help organize the food and fun stuff for the band students after school, before the game. This takes place in the High School Cafeteria on September 25 and still needs a chairperson.
Talbot Tailgate (cancelled for 2020): Work the game/booth to represent the HBA at the tailgate on September 25. This event still needs a chairperson.
Novelty Sales: Organizing and running a Band booth at Home Football Games, the Holiday Extravaganza, and the spring Flea Market. This committee needs a chairperson.
New Parent Ambassadors (needed for 2021): Upperclassman parents welcome new Band Parent members. Looking for someone to coordinate.
Senior Night (needed for 2021): Need a freshman or sophomore parent to take over for Senior Night 2021 (Class of 2022). The coordinator collects information on seniors participating in Senior Night and arranges for corsages for senior Band Members and senior Band Moms.
Rita's Ice for Band Camp (cancelled for 2020): Scoop Rita's Ice for the students during the afternoon break.
Hoagie Team (not needed for 2020): Assist Jim with setting up the cafeteria and prepping veggies on Hoagie Making Days: August 22, October 3, November 14, and January 23.
