Join the Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) and the Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (FFRP) for a weekend of field work! This sign up is for Day 1, Saturday April 6th. We will be assisting FFRP with their fire fuels management goals by cutting up and moving woody debris from the forest understory in an effort to minimize the severity of a potential wildfire. The woody debris we collect will be passed through a wood chipper and the mulch it produces will be used for our plantings on the following day!
TO GET THERE: Head north on CA-1 N to Cambria. After passing Burton Drive you will continue driving for slightly less than one mile (approx. 0.85 miles). Park on the large pull-out (green box on map) located on the left (west) side of CA-1 and follow event signs from the trail up to the ridge. If the pull-out fills up, you may go in and park on the side of the trail (green line).
MUST WEAR long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy close-toed shoes. Sunglasses and hard hat if you have them. Water bottle recommended. Tools, safety gear, and light refreshments will be provided.
