US Open of Mountain Biking course marshal volunteer sign up
Great people make great events! As a volunteer course marshal you'll be part of our event team, helping to keep racers safe as the eyes and ears of the race course. You'll also have a front row seat for all the action.
Course marshals will be positioned in designated spots along the race course and outfitted with two-way radios. Primary responsibility is to communicate injuries and course holds back to the race director. Course marshals are not expected to perform any first aid. Some marshals may be asked to help with race timing tasks.
Course marshals should be comfortable spending a few hours in the woods and able to handle rocky terrain and steep inclines in some positions. Please let us know if you're interested, but maybe not able to traverse any rough terrain.
Please sign up for consecutive time slots if you plan to help out all day (truly appreciated!)
All volunteers will recieve lunch, a Fox US Open shirt and a one-day voucher to come back to ride at Snow Summit Bike Park.
Please plan to arrive at the designated volunteer check-in location ahead of the start time of your selected shift. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to allow time to park and walk to the lodge. Course Marshal volunteers should consider bringing some snacks, extra drinks, jacket, umbrella, and folding chair if you'd like. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
We could not bring this international level race to Big Bear Lake, CA without the awesome support of our volunteers. Thank you!
