Running a Grocery Store on wheels is just as difficult as operating a brick-and-mortar store, except it moves! In all seriousness though, There are many components of this program that we can always use some help with. Purchasing, Grocery pickups, Inventory, cleaning, produce picking, quality control, sorting, pricing, retail sales, truck driving, food bagging, survey-taking, post-market data input are all things that we can always use a hand with.
Our Mobile Grocery Market, which we sometimes call our “Veggie Mobile” is our answer to bringing a variety of produce and fresh foods to individuals with mobility challenges throughout our community.
Since 2014 we’ve been able to deliver 283,486 individual servings of food to those who need it most.
5149 individual customers have visited one of our 64 stops since 2014 and purchased 50,515 pounds of food.
The Veggie Mobile travels throughout the county and delivers produce and groceries to senior housing complexes, public housing authority properties, public services centers, permanent supportive housing as well as places that are considered food apartheids.
