Lord of Life will co-host Breakfast in the Park with Compassion United on Saturday, April 10th at Lewis Park, Conroe. Shelf stable food can be dropped off to the church kitchen the week prior, but warm food will need to be dropped to the church kitchen between 8-8:45 that Saturday morning. Volunteers are needed to collect the food at 8:45 and travel to Lewis Park by 9:15. Servers report directly to the park by 9:15. If you are unable to help that day but can provide funds towards the purchase of these items, you can donate via Realm here (Feed The Homeless).
Extra details: Compassion United, an organization serving the forgotten, marginalized and hopeless of Montgomery Co. through outreach, relief and empowerment, hosts this event every Saturday. They bring a trailer and we help set up tables and chairs. Anywhere from 75-150 people typically show up for breakfast. There is a short devotional, a blessing, and then we serve as people move through the buffet line. At the end, we (the servers) help wipe down tables, collect trash, and carry chairs back to the trailer. Children are welcome, but if you will have a baby/toddler with you, I do not suggest signing up as a server. You are welcome to walk around and visit.
