Dinner Hosts: Each evening from 5pm-8pm;
These volunteers will provide an evening meal for our guests. These volunteers will bring the meal to the church (or they can use the church kitchen) and remain to eat with our guests. Dinner hosts socialize with guests, welcome newcomers, and assist parents with children's needs. Dinner should be comfortable and informal. After dinner, hosts may conduct children's activities, help with homework, or assist a guest with a particular need as they wish. The Dinner Host is encouraged to enlist support from your Sunday School class or other volunteers in dinner preparations.
* Wednesday Evening Hosts will help with a meal to be served in the Fellowship Hall.
Overnight Hosts (1 male/1 female per night) 8pm-7am
These volunteers will spend the night in CLC in private sleeping quarters. Family Promise will provide 2 beds but volunteers should bring their own pillows. They can bring blow up beds, sleeping bags, etc if they wish. They will insure families are in rooms by 10pm and that they are up by 6am and ready to depart by 7am. They will set out continental style breakfast from items in the church kitchen.
Saturday Hosts - Volunteers in 2 hour shifts starting at 7am-5pm allowing families to enjoy a day of hanging out at SHBC. Organized play time is encouraged, but so is just hanging out. Those who serve during the lunch hour will coordinate the set-up for a light lunch for our guest families.
(Sun 3pm-5pm set up/7am-9am breakdown)4-5 volunteers.
These volunteers will breakdown SS classes and set up beds and other items rooms to ready them for families. On Sun morning they will breakdown the rooms and load beds and totes back on truck.
Breakfast Coordinator - will recruit and enlist others to provide continental breakfast items. The coordinator will need to check on the inventory of these items through the week to ensure proper supplies are available.
Lunch Coordinator - will recruit and enlist others to provide sack lunch style items, i.e chips, sandwiches, drinks, etc. The coordinator will need to check on the inventory of these items through the week to insure proper supplies are available.
Laundry Team- 5 volunteers to take linens home to wash/dry/fold and return to church after families depart.
