Alpha Course Helpers
Enjoying a meal together is a central part of Alpha. The opportunity to get to know one another and talk over a meal helps guests to feel welcome and builds friendships between participants as they explore questions about Jesus. We need some volunteers to help in the following ways:
Cooking Alpha Meals
We need volunteers to cook dinner for each of the eight weeks of the course. At this stage we don't know how many people will sign up to attend, so we are asking for two volunteers each week to sign up to cook a dish for 12-15 people and we will be in touch nearer the time with further details.
The meals don't need to be complicated or fancy. In the past we have had dishes such as: shepherd's pie, lasagne, vegetable chilli, pasta, and jacket potatoes with toppings. If you have an idea of what you might cook, perhaps you could include this in the 'comments' section of your sign-up below. We will need at least one dish which is suitable for vegetarians.
We are not asking you to cover the cost of the meal yourself - if you provide Ben or Cara with your receipts, we will arrange for you to be reimbursed for the cost of the food.
Serving Alpha Meals
It would be great if we could also have some people who would be able to help with the practical aspects of running the Alpha course each evening. You could help us as a one-off or every week. This would involve helping to serve the meal, clearing up the plates, and preparing coffee/tea ready for the discussion time. Anyone helping in this way would be more than welcome to join us for dinner.
