This event will provide information about the Federal Pro Bono Program in the District of Nevada, and will include a free, one-hour CLE on handling federal civil rights cases. An introduction will be provided by members of the federal judiciary. Information will include a description of the need and opportunities for pro bono service in the District, how cases are selected for the Program, how to get assigned a case, and how to get reimbursed for costs. Past pro bono volunteers will provide a description of their experiences with the program.
Opportunities to receive and provide mentorship and to gain valuable experience will be discussed in detail. Frequently Asked Questions about federal pro bono practice, including representing inmates and handling civil rights cases, will be answered.
This event will be held live in the Jury Assembly Room at the District Court. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.Virtual attendence is also available for those who prefer the option.
