Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)
TAPS is recruiting volunteers to support our Southern Regional Military Survivor Seminar and Good Grief Camp
Location: Fort Hood, TX
Dates: March 14-17
About the Seminar: TAPS Military Survivor Seminars are inspirational programs of support, bringing together adult and child survivors for a weekend of hope and healing. By bringing together peer professionals, subject matter experts, mental health clinicians, and TAPS Peer Mentors, TAPS comes alongside military survivors to walk the journey together. TAPS Good Grief Camp, the youth survivor-focused program for children and teens, provides a safe and supportive atmosphere for activities and opportunities to establish and identify support systems, develop coping skills, and create awareness that they are not alone in the grief of their loved one.
Volunteers are at the very heart of TAPS, and they are essential for a successful seminar. There are many opportunities available throughout the weekend. Roles include:
- Seminar pack-in
- Seminar set-up
- Family check-in
- TAPS store support
- Event photographers
- Saturday Seminar Logistics
- Seminar pack-out
All volunteers will be provided a TAPS t-shirt and name tag that will identify them as a part of our volunteer staff. Volunteers are welcome to join TAPS staff for meals during their shift. On-site point of contact will be Sharon Paz, Manager of TAPS Volunteer Resources. A final details email will be sent to volunteers before the event with all of the information needed to arrive prepared.
Any Questions: Please contact Sharon Paz, Volunteer Resources Manager, [email protected] or 571-385-2565.
