Rochester Regional Science and Engineering Fair
Middle School and High School students whose projects involve human, vertebrate animal, or hazardous materials or activities MUST attend a Scientific Review Committee Meeting to have their project pre-approved BEFORE experimentation can begin.
For virtual review, you will need to create a Zfairs Account and upload your SRC paperwork before you attend the meeting (Zfairs opens October 16, 2020). PLEASE ENTER YOUR PROJECT CATEGORY IN ZFAIRS AS "SCIENTIFIC REVIEW COMMITTEE" - you will be able to modify your category following your SRC approval. Follow the Science Fair directions appropriate to your grade level - located on our website or given to you by your teacher - to make sure you have required paperwork completed before your review.
The night of the SRC Review, please log into Zfairs a few minutes prior to your scheduled review time. Note that reviewers will be going through a queue during this time, and if earlier reviews take longer than expected, you may find yourself having to wait beyond the time of your scheduled meeting before you are able to be reviewed. Please wait until the next available reviewer is able to meet with you.
- An in-depth research plan MUST be uploaded into your Zfairs Account before you attend an SRC meeting.
- TEAMS should sign up for only ONE time slot, with their team leader listed as the contact person for the review meeting.
- Some projects require in-depth review, which may mean your review may run later than the timeframe for which you have signed up.
