Unity Church Unitarian needs Compost Couriers to help make our composting system work, which in turn helps us connect with our 7th Principle and be responsible stewards of the living world we share with each other and so many other living things. If you can come pick up a couple of bins of kitchen waste and transport it to one of our Ramsey County composting sites, occasionally or regularly, please sign up below for dates that work for you.
Details of this task: we need kitchen scraps to be picked up on Monday and Thursday each week. If the church is closed on a Monday, you can come Tuesday. If you can help with the later pick up but can't make it to the farther drop off site (on Pierce Butler), you can come Friday and deliver to the closer site on Pleasant Ave that is open Mon, Wed, and Fri. You will go to the kitchen, pick up the blue bins from under the dishwashing area, take them to your vehicle (the elevator is handy for this), empty the bins in the appropriate composting receptacle at the yard waste drop off site, return to Unity, rinse the bins in the pot washing sink, and return the bins to the place that you got them.
If you have questions or suggestions or would like to be removed from this sign up, please contact Michelle Mecey at [email protected].
