Mission and Outreach
Super Serve Saturday is BACK and better than EVER!
We have adapted to COVID so that people can still serve in meaningful ways to support local partnerships. There are family friendly options, no contact options, options to serve at home, and limited numbers to keep with COVID guidelines.
Brief descriptions of each of the partners/projects are below. For a detailed description for each place as well as safety measures taken - please visit http://hydeparkchurch.org/super-serve-saturday/
Serve with Wesley Chapel Mission Center in Over the Rhine for mentoring/learning with the STAR Club kids:
- 10:15a -12:45p at Wesley Chapel Mission Center (70 E McMicken Ave)
- Volunteers need to be age 14 and up (anyone younger, ages 4-13, would need to come with a parent and participate in the program like the other children attending)
- A tutoring opportunity (STAR stands for Science, Technology, Arithmetic, and Reading) working with children pre-K to 6th grade.
- Instead of meeting at the church, you will go directly to Wesley Chapel Mission in Over-the-Rhine. After enjoying a nutritious breakfast, PreK-6th grade children work one-on-one with volunteers on homework or materials provided by WCMC. Through this program, we are able to support and encourage the work that goes on in school. Students are invited based on the number of volunteers we have, so we are always looking for help in this area.
- Please wear comfortable shoes, clothes, and bring a water bottle and mask.
- Click here to fill out their volunteer form online before you serve
- Safety Measures in Place? All students and volunteers will have a health check prior to entering our buildings. Hands are to be washed as soon as you enter. Masks should be worn by students, staff and volunteers throughout the day. Please bring your own mask and a water bottle.
Help make a house a home with New Life Furniture Bank in Blue Ash:
- 9:00a -12:00p at New Life Furniture (11335 Reed Hartman Hwy. Unit 134 in Blue Ash)
- A team of up to 8 (ages 12 and up) will help make a house a home by sorting dishes and linen donations and boxing them up for delivery.
- Please wear comfortable shoes, clothes, and bring a water bottle and mask.
- Please visit the Super Serve Saturday page to download, print, fill out and bring the volunteer form when you serve.
- Safety Measures in Place: Limited number of people in serving, temperature upon arrival and sign off on COVID checklist, tables are spaced 6ft apart, gloves and hand sanitizer at each table, please bring a mask to wear.
Provide part of a lunch for clients and staff for The Center for Respite Care:
- Want an option where you can serve at home? Sign up to make and drop off part of a meal (entree, side, salad, dessert, etc.) for The Center for Respite Care. Drop off takes place at the church parking lot or kitchen and the Sheldons will take the meal to Respite.
- Items that need to be hot/warm for lunch need to be dropped off at the church on Saturday morning at 10:45a.
- For a totally no contact option, choose a cold/room temperature meal item and drop off your item in the Welcome Center kitchen before 10:30a on Super Serve Saturday.
Decorate and/or write a greeting card to brighten the day of a senior with Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH and Northern KY:

- Partnering with Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH and Northern KY, along with a delivery of a meal, a smile can also be shared by giving a senior a greeting card written or decorated by you!
