Volunteer coffee hour hosts provide coffee (sometimes tea, juice, or water too) for approximately 30 people, depending on the service. Coffee may be made in the Parish Hall kitchen using the ground coffee beans available in the refrigerator and freezer. If you prefer to go the Starbucks traveler route, please call the day before to schedule your order and request cups and creamer only, there are plenty of sugar packets stored in the Parish Hall kitchen cabinets. Snacks are also appreciated, but keep it simple. Fruit, cheese & crackers, or baked goods are great. Some parishioners appreciate gluten free items.
Volunteering means that you bring the food with you, set it out (perhaps after Communion), and clean up at the end of coffee hour. There are typically sugar packets, stirring sticks, napkins, hot and cold beverage cups, coffee filters (in the wooden cart's drawer), and limited leftover foods in the Parish Hall kitchen. Be sure to check for leftover perishables like creamer.
A note about cleaning up: Any soiled dishes need to go into the dishwasher. Food-soiled paper plates and napkins may be placed in the green compost bin; food-free paper, plastic, and metallic items may be recycled in a blue bin; all other garbage may go in a black trash bin.
