This volunteer event is at The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana's food distribution pantry at 2307 Texas Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
"The Pantry on Texas," is primarily volunteer staffed. The pantry is an ongoing event and we need volunteer sign ups for every Tuesday and Thursday! Food Bank personnel will also be present. Distribution to clients will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-2:00. The pantry services the 71101, 71103, and 71109 zip codes.
Please help us in these following areas:
Packers/Sorters: You will help build boxes; sort and pack produce/frozen goods/pastries for distribution later in the day; 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. You may sign up for one or the other...or both!!
Registraton: You will help clients complete their registration with a tablet/computer. A training video is linked below and someone will give you instructions upon arrival. It is very user friendly, but being comfortable on a computer helps. 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. You may sign up for one or the other...or both!!
Food Distribution: You will assist clients in getting their boxes to their vehicles and more. 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. You should be able to load boxes weighing 25-50 pounds.You may sign up for one or the other...or both!!
Everyone must wear a mask. Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the shift begins. Be sure to sign-in upon arrival. Closed-toed shoes are required. Please no tank tops or revealing clothing. Please be flexible as you might be asked to assist in another area if needed.
