This event is for Tuesday, August 31, 2021 and Thursday, September 2, 2021. You may sign up for one or both days.
The Food Bank of NWLA has opened a distribution pantry at it's old location at 2307 Texas Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
"The Pantry on Texas," will be primarily volunteer staffed. Distribution to clients will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-2:00. It will service the 71101, 71103, and 71109 zip codes.
Here is what we are looking for:
Packers/Sorters: Will sort and pack produce/frozen goods/pastries or build boxes for distribution later in the day ; 8:00-12:00
Client Registration: These people will either help clients with paperwork or will be set up with a tablet/computer and will input client data into Client Software. A training video is linked below and someone will give you instuctios upon arrival. It is very user friendly, but being comfortable on a computer helps 11:00-3:00
Runners/Loaders/Traffic Control: Will do a little of everything including assisting clients in getting their boxes to their vehicles. 11:00-3:00;should be able to load boxes weighing 25-50 pounds
Everyone must wear a mask. Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes before shift begins. Be sure to sign-in upon arrival. Closed-toed shoes are required. Please no tank tops or revealing clothing. Please be flexible as you might be asked to assist in another area if needed.
