REFI will be helping the Elkton Ruritans with their chicken BBQ the morning of Saturday, July 10. In return, the Ruritans will be giving a donation to REFI. It is a pretty simple way to fundraise for REFI with only a few hours of your time!
We need several folks to come for the early shift to help flip the chicken on the racks, and then additional folks for the second shift to carry it to the wrapping area and wrap the chicken in foil. It's a lot of fun! (Please be aware that we may end earlier than noon if the chicken cooks and sells fast, but it might be a little after noon if it takes longer to cook and sell.)
Plan to wear your grubbies, and if you're on the first shift, you may want to also bring a bandana to cover your nose from the smoke and/or a pair of safety googles to try to keep the smoke out of your eyes. Closed toed shoes are also suggested, and the grass around the pits often ends up being wet, so be prepared for your shoes to possibly get wet.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Their BBQ pit is on Old Spotswood Trail between the Shenandoah River and 1st street. If you have any questions, please contact Amanda Nott at 540-271-1190 or [email protected] Thank you!
