Boy Scout Troop 314

Miracle Baseball League

Interested in service and baseball? Scouts 12-years of age and older pair-up with a special needs child---running with them around the bases, helping them hold the bat, helping them field, etc. Scouts will participate in two games each afternoon with two different special needs children.

Each game has two innings, and every special needs player bats once per inning. The rules are simple:

  • Every player scores a run before the inning is over.
  • The last batter in the line-up hits a “home run.”
  • No strikes, outs or fouls are called.
  • Community volunteers serve as “buddies” to assist the players one-on-one.
  • Games are noncompetitive so everybody wins.
  • No practice required- just arrive 20 minutes before scheduled game time.
  • Games last approximately one hour.
