Boy Scout Troop 314

Memorial Day Flag Laying and Ceremony

For the 88th year, Raleigh's American Legion Post One will host its annual Memorial Day Service at the Raleigh National Cemetery (501 Rock Quarry Road.) The service is a tribute to those who gave their lives in defense of freedom.  Scouts are needed to help place small flags on the graves of those interned there and/or participate in the Wreath Ceremony.

Flags will be placed at the grave sites on Saturday, May 25, 2019 starting at 9:00 AM. Wear your Class B uniform.

Wreath-laying Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Scouts will place a commemorative wreath (provided by the Troop) at one of the grave sites that afternoon. The event is usually attended by 50-75 bystanders.  Proudly wear your Class A uniform.
