Academic Honor Roll Recognition (Chair: Jane Kragh) (2)

Works with administration at the close of each semester to obtain the roster of students who meet both Honor Roll criterion. Ascertain who gets certificate, letter, or pin. Organize the printing of certificates and distribution of acknowledgments.

Accolades (2)

Behind the scenes paper-pusher. Complete and submit entries for recognition of our PTSA good works.

 

Business Partner Liaison (Chair: this can be YOU) (2)

Establish and maintain relationships with local merchants and community members for annual contributions of money for scholarships and for donations of food or goods to support our staff and students. Work with the RHS employed Business Partner Liaison.

 

Campus Improvement (Chair: this can be YOU) (4)

Each year there are new things to tackle (clean-up day with parents and students picking up trash outside, wiping down windows and lockers, securing a team to trim bushes and limbs, spread pine straw, purchase a memorial bench, etc..)

Directory (2)

Pull together roster obtained via Data Clerk, casting out for ads (most already exist), work with printer (who is awesome), assist in distribution upon completion. Fall job only.

 

Driver Education (Chair: this can be YOU)

Works with Administration and Accident Avoidance Workshop owner (Uncle Homer) to plan 1-2 workshops to be held at RHS. Includes publicizing AAW via PTSA Newsletter and Face Book page.

ESOL/ELS (Chair: Tina Cameron)

Touch base with Esmer Johnson to ID needs. Usually reimburse $100-$300 for hospitality expenses used to attract families to curriculum meeting in fall. Possibly host a book drive in the fall.

 

Exceptional Children (Chair: Christie Robinson)

Touch base with Department Chair (Ben Sutter) to ID needs. Recently outfitted a Sensory Room – a small classroom filled with furniture and equipment to aid these students in their sensory development.

 

Facebook Administrator (Chair: Jill Underwood)

Keep the PTSA FB page up to date with pertinent information about the school’s goings-on. This position is best served by someone currently using FB who is able to remain non-political and unbiased.

 

Greeter Desk (Chair: Ginger Greve) (4)

Chair creates a Sign Up Genius offering reoccurring shifts (i.e., every 3rd Thursday of the month). We currently have a large volunteer roster, so it remains mostly full through out the school year. This is an ‘email job’.

Leadership 20/20 (Chairs: this can be YOU) (3)

Work with Roswell Rotary and 2 RHS staff members in hosting Leadership Forum typically 1st Thursday in Feb. Light administrative work including nametags, folders, agenda, and team building activity supply gathering. Secures snack/drink donations

Media Center (Chair: Anne-Marie Canty) (2)

Work with Kathrine Swearingen as needed to fill volunteer times via Sign Up Genius; shelving books, reorg, monitor students (like a proctor) during peak hours/ lunchtime

Membership (Chairs: Lisa Beech) (4)

Responsible for tracking membership income through drives and what comes in through the front office. Membership Drives are held on the evenings on Parent Nights and Open House in Fall and Spring. Manage membership spreadsheet, deposit funds, submit dues.

 

Newsletter (Chairs: Kathryn Mulkey, Stephanie Parmele, Leah Burdette) (2)

This is the Editor job of the currently ‘weekly’ PTSA/School Newsletter. This may change a bit going into the fall of 2018, as Dr. Shaw has hired a Communications Manager for the school. Solicit content from others, e.g Boosters, Dept Heads.

 

Reflections (Chair: this can be YOU) (3)

Pull reflections info from GeorgiaPTA website and publish theme & dates for entries vie PTSA Newsetter and FB page. Occurs in the fall, requires following up with North Fulton PTA and GeorgiaPTA for winning entries. Small reception held in Spring.

 

Scholarships (Chair: Anne Fallon) (5)

Chair ensures applications are loaded onto the PTSA Website. Chair will de-identify applications and ensure applicant requirements are met. Committee reviews and decides winners.

Social Work Support (Chair: Sally Kadrich) (2)

Works with RHS Social Worker (Valerie Rogers) to coordinate Backpacks of Love and to help solicit funds or goods to assist economically challenged students, from time to time, meet their goals. This is an ‘under the radar’ committee.

 

Staff Appreciation/Hospitality (Chairs: Jennifer Rathbun, Kalene Martin, Amie Koporc) (4)

Host/Organize 3-4 staff lunches through school year; 1 fall, 1 day before Winter Break, 1 spring week event. Use existing volunteer list. Includes organizing food needs, ordering or asking for donations (Sign Up Genius), décor, set up and break down.

Student Well Being (Chair: Carmen Newsom) (4)

Meet monthly to brainstorm ideas on speakers and initiatives great and small which will positively impact the culture and attitudes of our Roswell High students, staff, and families.

 

TAG (Chair: Allison Vrolijk)

Touch base with TAG Department Head (Laura Koon) to ID needs.

 

Teacher Mini-Grants (Chair: Casey Mellor) (4)

Chair coordinates to get the application updated online and then sends the app out to the staff early fall. Committee reviews applications, decides which ones are to be funded, reviewing recent past awards, and works with the school to make purchases

VIP Bfast / Honors Night (Chairs: VIP - Heather Robertson & Ginger Greve) (Honors - Shawn DoVale) (4)

Work with counseling staff to obtain roster of those honored. Includes creating certificates for VIP events and program for Honors Night, working with Counselors for Honors presentations & decorating (lightly) the stage. Cookies and lemonade stations

 

Website (Chair: Allison Vrolijk)

Light traffic on maintenance. PTSA link on main RHS website only. Most everything is static. On ‘as needed’ basis on your own time, but most will be updated July/August and a few things January/February.
