Script Club - Other Desert Cities

Theatre Tuscaloosa wants to read! We will be taking this time when we have limited contact to use ZOOM as a way for us to virtually gather and read plays aloud about twice a month.

Sign up if you are interested in reading Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin Baitz. The reading will be Thursday, January 7 at 7pm via Zoom. Sign-up below to read a male or female role, and you will be provided a copy of the script and assigned a role.

We need 2 men and 3 women to play the spoken roles. We will also need someone to read the stage directions. If you just want to join in and listen, you can do that, too.

Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family’s history—a wound they don’t want reopened. In effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.
