Advocacy Liaison - Chair*

PTA Board Member - Determine advocacy projects needing attention in the school community. Inform school community of important education- related issues of Colorado PTA. Attend Colo PTA Legislative meetings. TIME COMMITMENT: Year-round, 1-2 hrs/month.

Membership Chair*

Support Family/Individual Membership, Business Membership and Membership Directory chairs with events and tasks throughout the year. TIME COMMITMENT: 2- 3 hours weekly in August, 1-2 hours monthly Sept. - May

Ways & Means Chair*

PTA Board Member - Oversee and assist the fundraiser Chairs, including Box Tops, Restaurant Nights, Milk Caps, Carnival, Auction, E-Cycle. Recruit volunteers for vacant fundraiser positions. TIME COMMITMENT: 2-3 hours per month.

Volunteer Co-Coordinator

Manage MJ Volunteer email & new interest. Keep volunteer contact information up to date & accurate. Attend social events to answer volunteer questions. Help find candidates to fill vacant positions. TIME COMMITMENT: 1hr/week July-Oct, 1-2hrs/week Nov-May

Room Parent Coordinator

Helping to coordinate all room parents. Communicating school expectations for class parties and any other communication.

Virtual Room Coordinator

Manage MJ remote volunteer email & new interest. Manage Volunteer Sign up Genius. Keep volunteer contact information up to date & accurate.Help find candidates to fill vacant positions. TIME COMMITMENT: 1hr/week July-Oct, 1-2hrs/week Nov-May

Staff Appreciation - Co-Chair (2)

Organize staff appreciation events including staff dinners during fall and spring conferences, staff appreciation events in May. Set up and clean up events. TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hrs/yr

Assist the Chair in carrying out the staff appreciation events. TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hrs/yr

Enrichment Program - Chair

Contact enrichment companies and schedule Fall and Spring Enrichment classes. Coordinate building availability, set up on-line registation, program communications to parents, and create student rosters. TIME COMMITMENT: Early Aug-May, 2 hours bi-weekly

Spirit Wear - Co-Chair (2)

Secure spirit wear vendor, determine styles, send home flyers for order, and set up display at school. Also responsible for submitting and delivering spirit wear orders. TIME COMMITMENT: 2-3 hours bi-weekly June-May

Restaurant Night Chair (2)

Organizing 1-2 Restaurant Night Events per month. Preparing paperwork, coordinating with school calendar, advertising events through online communications, flyers, and signs. TIME COMMITMENT: 2- 3 hours per week.

Box Tops

Publicize Box Tops fundraiser throughout the year, Collect Box Tops from classrooms and office, put in bundles of 50 and submit to Box Tops for Education for funding. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours/month

School Supply Kits

Milk Caps

Publicize Milk Caps fundraiser, collect milk caps, submit caps into Longmont Dairy, coordinate with treasurer of the funds raised from caps. TIME COMMITMENT: 1 hour monthly Sept- May

Reflections - Chair

Follow Reflection guidelines by CO PTA and encourage students to submit original works of art on common theme. Submit email blasts to communicate Reflection Theme and rules. Display submitted student work. TIME COMMITMENT: 2-3 hours monthly Sept- Oct

Assist Reflections Chair including collecting art work, displaying art work, reflections events, etc. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours monthly Sept.- Oct.

Organize and run the Milage Club program

Nominations (2)

Recruit volunteers for open board positions for the following school year. Head up nominations committee (if needed). TIME COMMITMENT: Recruiting time commitment from March-May 1 hour monthly.

Talent Show - Co-Chairs (2)

Organize talent show and act line up, secure dates for preview, dress rehearsal, talent show. Manage music submissions, secure any props, instruments needed for acts. Secure a person to video talent show. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly Feb- March

Talent Show - Committee (3)

Assist with duties of Talent Show TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly Feb-March

Science Fair - Committee Members (3)

Help with setup and take down of the tables and presentations, walking students to and from judging, assist with ribbon distribution. TIME COMMITMENT: 5 hours during the week of the fair.

PTA Email Blast

Gather the news that is submitted via PTA email and then create the weekly news blast that is sent to PTA members and also coordinate with the website chair to update the news posted on the PTA website. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly.

PTA Facebook Page Management

Maintain Meiklejohn PTA Facebook page. Update with important events and announcements from the PTA. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly.

PTA Website Master

Keep the PTA website up to date with news, events, general info, programs, fundraising. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly.

Membership Directory

Manage the digital directory through My School Anywhere. TIME COMMITMENT: 2-3 hours monthly July-Sept.

Maker's Space Liaison

Coordinate the need for parent volunteers to help build out the space with Mrs. Sale. Communicate with PTA board regarding progress and other needs. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hrs/month July-May.

Lost & Found Coordinator (5)

Maintain a clean and organized Lost & Found space. Regularly remind school community to check for lost items. Set deadlines for when items will be donated to local charity. TIME COMMITMENT: 1hr/week August-May

Family Membership Chair

Encourage the Meiklejohn community to become a member of the PTA during school events as well as provide communication throughout the year. Submit bi-annual reports. Process spreadsheet data. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours weekly throughout Aug-May.

Assist with duties assigned by Family & Individual Membership Co-Chairs. TIME COMMITMENT: 1-2 hours bi-weekly.

Teacher Sweepstakes - Co-Chair (2)

Coordinate teacher events, produce & distribute flyers for Thursday folders, sort & distribute tickets, create SignUp Genius for volunteers to help during lunch the week of the event, set up & clean up. TIME COMMITMENT: 2 hr/week from January -mid April

Library (5)

Assist the Librarian with a variety of tasks.

Kindness Committee

Assist in the planning and organizing of "Kindness Events" throughout the year to help support our community and other nearby schools.

Parent University (4)

Provide a valuable opportunity for parents, schools and community to become jointly involved in education. Members will support and empower parents to become leaders and advocates for their child's learning.
