Volunteer opportunities are available at the 13th Annual "Wine on the Fox presented by john greene Realtor", taking place in at Village Hall May 4 - 5, 2019. This event showcases approx. 190 brands of wine from Illinois, California, Spain, Italy and more! Live entertainment from a variety of genres will liven the event along with the smells of delicious food from a variety of vendors.
Proceeds from Wine on the Fox benefit event programming and community amenities throughout the year. Fourth of July fireworks, Movies in the Park and other fun for Oswego families will be made possible because of the contributions of Wine on the Fox volunteers, sponsors, participating businesses and attendees.
The following information provides brief descriptions of the volunteer opportunities:
Pouring Wine - In an effort to keep lines to a minimum, assist wineries in greeting patrons, accepting tickets in exchange for 1 oz. or 5 oz. servings, educate the consumer about the products and have fun! Setting up and tearing down during the first and last shifts of the day provides the most fulfillment of all. Please plan to assist in securing any remaining products before leaving.
Tickets Sales, picture ID check and wristbands for patrons ages 21 or older: Those interested in enjoying alcohol at the event are required to present a picture ID and obtain a wristband. Work with other volunteers at registration tables to ensure that all are in compliance. this is a great place to work with up to 6 other friends.
Gate Checker: Greet patrons as they arrive and do a soft-check of coolers and large bags to be sure alcohol is not brought into the permitted event area. Thank patrons from coming as they leave and ensure that open containers of alcohol do not leave the permitted event site.
Product Runners: Help wineries keep up with product demand. Additional wine cases and ice will be needed throughout the event. Work with the Product Manager to track and deliver said products and meet new friends along the way. This is a great place to work together with up to 3 other friends.
Packaged Sales Tent: Help sell bottles of wine from 16 wine tents all in one place. This is a great place to work together with up to 3 other friends.
Parking Lot Attendant: Greet drivers in front of the Handicapped/Permit Parking, Only Lot. If they have the proper credentials, invite them to park in the parking lot located behind Village Hall. Those who do not have the applicable credentials will be redirected a 1/4 mile up Washington St. to general event parking.
