Thank you for signing up to volunteer at the [email protected] show. With 40+ horses, and more than 150 riders, this show needs all hands on deck to make it run smoothly. We are asking all participating teams to volunteer at some point throughout the day - whether in the paddock holding horses, or distributing t-shirts, or helping set up and tear down.
This is a unique show in that our barn is very far from the paddock, so once horses have been schooled, they will remain in the paddock until they are done showing for the day. There will be two groups of horses and we will need UPPER SCHOOL and ADULT horse handlers whenever moving any horses to and from the paddock and barn. This is not the venue to have young riders handling horses by themselves. For safety reasons, anytime horses are being brought to or from the arena, there should be at least one adult and preferably two people per horse.
Young riders (grades 4-8) will be very helpful holding horses IN the paddock area (just not traveling back and forth). Horse holders will wear a badge anytime they are holding in the paddock.
Adult volunteers are needed at the IEA booth/photo & prize area. We need help selling programs, distributing awards and pre-ordered t-shirts as well as distributing IEA flyers during the show to visiting spectators.
Not sure where you will be needed? Check-in at the IEA booth in the south entrance to the Coliseum and we will assign you a job. Thank you!
