Attention 4-H families participating in the livestock showcase: We ask that all 4-H family members volunteer for at least one volunteer shift (not including on-call shifts). Parents: please do not sign up for volunteer shifts during shows in which you will be assisting your child(ren). Most shifts do not allow for you to watch the livestock show happening during that time. Young 4-H members are excluded from volunteering but parents and teen youth are expected to volunteer so that we can meet the necessary volunteer requirements to host the showcase.
In addition to your volunteer shifts: 4-H families are responsible for Cleanup Crew shifts after their own show to remove garbage, manure, take down and clean equipment, etc. For example, beef and dairy exhibitors are asked to sign-up to clean the arena in preparation for the next show.
Shifts are longer due to social distancing requirements, most shifts begin before judging/showing start and end at the conclusion of judging/showing. Thanks for your help to make Showcasing happen!
Health Screener: volunteers record names of people entering the fairgrounds, ask health questions, and take temperatures as needed.
Entry gate attendant/s: stationed at each entry and exit point to maintain a count of people on the grounds at all times
Parking and Trailering attendants: parking and dismissal of trailers and livestock ID assistance
Water Hydrant Monitor: Monitor and disinfect water hydrant after each use
Cleaning Crew: clean and disinfect bathroom facilities and high touch areas
Ring steward: assist with the movement of animals in class
Judging clerk: record and announce placings
On Call Volunteer: If you are willing to be "on call" for a shift in addition to your other volunteer shift, please sign up here. We will use these volunteers in the event that we are short staffed or another key volunteer is unable to attend their shift.
Thank you for your role in making this showcase event happen! If you need assistance, please contact 4-H staff.
