Farmers Market Volunteers
Grow & Give, HDFFA's fresh food drive and only program of its kind in Central Oregon, collects produce from farmers, market patrons, and gardeners at local Farmers Markets. A Grow & Give Farmers Market Volunteer will assist market staff at the end of the Bend and NWX Farmers Markets to collect, weigh, and potentially transport market produce to cold storage a few miles away. A vehicle is preferred for this position (if needed in a pinch to help transport produce) but if you do not have one and still want to volunteer, please let us know!
Duties will include:
- Lifting objects of up to 40 pounds
- Helping break down the market booth
- Weighing and recording food donations using basic math skills
- Verbally engaging with market patrons and farmers
- Learning about HDFFA programs
Wednesday shifts are located at the Bend Downtown Farmers Market. Saturdays are at the Northwest Crossing Farmers Market.
We ask that volunteers interested in this opportunity sign up for a MINIMUM OF 5 SHIFTS throughout the season, as some training is required.
Email [email protected] with any questions. Please review the available slots below, choose 5 (or more!), and click on the button for each slot to sign up. You will recieve a confirmation email from Rachel within 48 hours.
