East Hawaii Coalition
This signup is for those interested in volunteering at the Recovery Information and Assistance Center (RIAC) at the Pahoa Community Center starting Tuesday May 15, 2018
As a volunteer you will be helping with intake forms and moving people through the process. 4 volunteers are needed to fill a 6 hour shift 9a-3p Mon-Fri. The purpose of RIAC is to start a case file for each family/individual that has been evacuated. You will document their story and get information so that we can get them the services they need for their personal situation.
VOAD is the organization that is running RIAC. Suzy Bond who is the Director of VOAD has asked me to help her get volunteers to man RIAC.
You will need to report at 8:45a to the Pahoa Community Center. You will be in the room that is directly across from the Red Shelter. The Pahoa Community Center is located behind Bank of Hawai’i in Pahoa.
