Martin Luther King Day Drop-Off Potluck Dinner at Lilac Meadows
This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join us in a day of service to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and his beloved community. On Monday, January 17, we are hosting drop-off potluck at Lilac Meadows family shelter and would love your help in providing a delicious, home-cooked meal to resident families in appreciation of Dr. King’s fight for equal rights and continued inspiration.
Lilac Meadows is home to about 140 residents, or 32 families with about 70 kids, and a community-made meal will be greatly appreciated – not just because of the wonderful array of delicious dishes, but because sharing food is an age-old way of building community and showing that we care for one another.
In a world without Covid-19, we would break bread together. However, to uphold social distancing, we ask folks to prepare meals at home then deliver to the shelter.
PLEASE SIGN UP for a dish– there are several categories to choose from! Dishes should serve 12 people and be delivered to the shelter on Monday, January 17, from 4:30-5:30 pm. Please deliver the food in disposable containers (it's difficult to wash and return them!) and hot meals as close to 5:30 pm as possible so they stay hot.
Protect friends, family, and yourself from illness by preparing safe food! You can find guidelines for safe food preparation at multco.us/health/staying-healthy/food-home.
