Curd Nerd Volunteers 2019

Welcome to the volunteer sign up for this year's Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest being held on April 28th at Highland Brewing from noon - 5 p.m.  

Below is a list of the volunteer jobs we need filled - please scroll through before making your final choice.

All volunteers who work at least 1 shift will receive a free general admission ticket (1:00pm - 5:00pm) which is non-transferable.

Volunteer Slots

Meadow Support: 11:45 to 1:50 (early shift) (15)

You'll be sent where most needed on the Meadow. Possibilities include helping in: the animal area, Family Tent, demo/workshops, selfie station, games area, or assisting a Trail vendor. Early/late shift will help with set-up/break-down.

Ticket Sales: 2nd Shift 2:15 - 4:15 (2)

Sell tickets to visitors. This task requires that you handle money and use a Square. Change and Square training will be provided.

Ticket Taker: 2nd shift, 12:45 to 2:45 (4)

Collect tickets, work the Will Call table, stamp hands, keep lines moving. You might also be asked to help with ticket sales.

Who doesn't dream about using a megaphone? Here's your chance! Be the voice of the fest by letting guests know when/where demos/workshops are, announcing winners to contests, encouraging guests to visit the selfie booth, & more!

Check in volunteers as they arrive. Inform them where they need to go, and make sure they have all necessary supplies and instructions.

Chef Competition Assistant: 11:30 to 1:30 (2)

Help with booth set-up/breakdown, ticket taking, ticket sales (if any tickets remain), assisting chefs, managing the crowd, directing folks to the tent, tallying tickets.

Some vendors are called away to conduct a workshop or lead a demo. We need volunteers to staff their booth while the vendor is away. This may require handling money. Your time slot will allow you time to be "trained" with the vendor.
