St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church Homeless Ministry
The need is greater than ever! The homeless are still homeless, but others are desperately in need. Therefore, the St. Francis de Sales Homeless Ministery is having a Blessing Bagging event on Wednesday, July 29th in the Knights of Columbus Hall (located in the main church building) from 5 - 7 PM. The bags will be distributed by the Sisters of Charity in Anacostia. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you must schedule a time slot in order to participate in the bagging event. Please see below.
To ensure a safe environment for our event, we are doing the following:
-Scheduling groups for a specific bagging time. These times will be 20 minutes apart, only four groups per 20 minute slot.
-Each group will assemble bags at their own table. Tables will be space 15 feet apart.
-Tables will be disinfected after each group.
-Masks for volunteers will be required.
-Gloves will be provided or bring your own.
-Volunteers will enter the Knights' Hall through the exterior double doors and exit up the staircase to the Narthex.
All items needed for donation, as well as the volunteer time slots, are listed below. Please be sure to scroll all the way down in order to view the whole sign up.
Please drop off donations in the Knights of Columbus Hall by 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28th, labeled "Blessing Bags Event". If you sign up to assemble bags and to donate items, you will still need to drop off donations on Tuesday, July 28th, to allow time for organization purposes.
