2022 Big Top Tour Circus Smirkus

Ticket Takers may be teenagers (13+) or adults. Stationed at the Big Top entrances, they open the tent when prompted by House Manager, collecting ticket stubs from each audience member, and assist with helping late arrivals enter the tent. Arrive at least one hour prior to showtime.

Program Distributors may be teenagers (13+) or adults. Stationed at each Big Top entrance, they are responsible for handing out one program to each family as they enter the tent. Arrive at least one hour prior to showtime.

Ushers must be adults. Ushers are positioned inside the tent, serving one bleacher section as assigned by the House Manager. They direct audience members where to sit, maintain reserved seating, and assist with special seating needs. During the show, ushers keep entrances clear and ensure that children and items stay off the ring curb and out of the mast areas. They stop flash photography and videotaping, as needed. Ushers will be instructed on proper emergency conduct and will be expected to assist in the event of an emergency. Ushers must be able to stand for at least three hours*. Arrive at least one hour and 15 min prior to showtime.

Parkers must be adults. Volunteers are needed to lay out the lot and then usher cars in a safe and orderly manner. Arrive at least 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to show time.

Box Office must be adults. Volunteers will assist staff at Will Call and Vax Check. Arrive at least 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to show time.

In some cases, we may need to shift volunteer positions depending on site needs. We appreciate your flexibility.

Circus Smirkus requires proof of full vaccination (including boosters as recommended by CDC) against Covid-19 with a CDC or WHO authorized vaccine for all staff, campers, troupers, volunteers, and eligible audience members. Audience members who are not eligible for the vaccine must show proof of a negative test result.
