Hooksett ALPS: Invention Convention
Hello Underhill Parents!
The Invention Convention is around the corner on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH. Yes, that is President's Day. We need parent volunteers throughout the day. We're asking for volunteers to help guide groups of students around the inventions for 1 to 2 hours. Visits will happen all throughout the day in the gym.
WHAT VOLUNTEERS DO: The volunteer job is like a chaperone or museum tour guide - where you will be able to help demonstrate inventions when inventors cannot be there (they will come and go as their schedule allows) and/or guide a small group of students from a class through the convention. Visiting students will not be allowed to touch the inventions without the inventor present, as some can be rather delicate.
It's a pretty fun job and the teachers will be grateful to have some more sets of eyes helping keep their students focused on the inventions. If you have any questions, please ask. You can reach Tracey Ruest at the school email: [email protected]
CHOOSE A TIME SLOT: When choosing a time slot, you may wish to ask when your child's class plans to visit. If so, please contact that teacher or Mrs. Ruest so we can try and coordinate. We estimate you'll help with 3-5 classes while you're here.
Thank you in advance! Tracey Ruest and Donna Tremblay, Hooksett ALPS Teachers and Karen Landsman, Underhill Library/Media Specialist
