Pewaukee High School Insight Program

Cutting Edge Program Seeks Guest Instructors

Pewaukee School District teachers are developing a list of guest instructors for Pewaukee High School's Insight program--an innovative off-campus "classroom" giving students real-world experience in business, health and medicine, biomedical, engineering and media--the first of its kind in the state and now in its third year. Guest Instructors will share insight into their profession. Presentation topics will be on curriculum-related materials, specific to each course. For example, students in Insight's Global Business strand learn about marketing, an instructor could share steps to create an effective campaign strategy. Guest Instructors may also share insight into the required skills sets, what a typical work day includes and what the future holds.

Instructor presentations, followed by a Q & A, total 60 minutes. Presenters are welcome to utilize a PowerPoint, video, smart board or simply speak to the students. Prior to the day of your presentation, teachers will give pointers on how best to share knowledge as it pertains to their curriculum, helping to make your time with students successful. And, teachers will be in the room with the presenters at all times. You don't have to be a professional speaker to share valuable insight about your profession, and you can accept or decline as requests are made.

If you wish to support the Insight program and assist us in the development of future professionals, please add your name, email and phone number to our list. Teachers will reach out as topics arise. Please also include topics that you would feel comfortable presenting. For example, maybe your comfortable speaking about entrepreneurship/innovation in general, or more specifically, lean startup. The more topics you provide, the easier it will be for our teachers.

Please visit our Insight webpage to learn more about this exciting opportunity. Thank you for your consideration!
