19.7. PCUSA Mission Work in Central America

PC(USA) mission co-worker Tracey King-Ortega will discuss her work in Central America, which she has served as World Mission’s regional liaison since 2005. Her ministry has a special focus on reconciliation and peacemaking. This class was arranged by Presbyterian Women and the Mission & Service ministry.

Ms. King-Ortega is based in Managua, Nicaragua, but travels frequently throughout all five Central America countries in which the PC(USA) has denominational partners: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. She earned a B.A. in international studies from Whitworth College and an M.A. in conflict transformation, with a concentration in restorative justice, from Eastern Mennonite University. She is a lifelong member of St. Peter’s by the Sea Presbyterian Church in Rancho Palos Verdes.
