HANDS Holiday Season 2019
Please join us for a fun evening of giftwrapping presents for seniors!
HANDS (Helping And Nurturing Diverse Seniors) is hosting the 15th Annual Holiday Meal this year on Dec. 25. We partner with Age Well, Burlington School Food Project, Elks Lodge, and Temple Sinai along with hundreds of volunteers and businesses to provide more than 700 Chittenden County seniors with a home-delivered meal and a shared sit-down dinner on Christmas Day.
Along with a delicious meal, each senior receives a giftbag full of wrapped presents which, in many cases, is the only gift that he/she receives during the holiday season.
Please select your volunteer slot below. This is a potluck and we invite you to bring a snack or drink to share. If you have any questions, or if you would like to donate items for the giftbags (see list at http://handsvt.org/wish-list), contact Jess Hyman at 802-598-3139 or [email protected]
There are seperate links to sign up for transporting giftbins and volunteering on Christmas Day.
We depend on volunteers and businesses to provide donations for the meals and giftbags, wrap gifts, make the meals, staff the sit-down dinner, donate money, and deliver meals. On behalf of older Vermonters, 7,800 of whom experience some form of food insecurity, thank you so much for your generosity in lending a hand!
