Join your friends and neighbors at the Davis Day of Service! Volunteer projects will benefit several non-profit organizations in the Davis community.
All participants will start at 8am with a kick-off continental breakfast at Slide Hill Park, 1525 Tulip Ln. Davis, then volunteers will disperse throughout the city for a morning of volunteer projects.
Family friendly! Groups welcome! All volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Make sure to bring yourself plenty of water to drink during your project and if you are working an outside project, don't forget the sunscreen and work gloves if you have them. Children under 14 must be chaperoned by an adult.
Yolo County Library- In this group, you will have the opportunity to help with straightening books, checking games for completeness, beautifying windows, doors, and furniture at the Yolo County Library. To sign-up, please contact Glen Uno by email at [email protected] or call 530-757-5577.5577.
Davis Christian Fellowship- Inside and outside projects available at the Davis Christian Fellowship. Outdoors they are looking for yard workers, cleaning and beautifying the property. Inside they have cleaning, redecorating, hanging of photos, and office filing. Center for Land-Based Learning- Cannery's Urban Farm Work Day. Get those gardening gloves on for this great project. Your participation will include revitalizing the native hedgerow by pruning, planting native plants, remove invasive species, and propagating at the Cannery's Urban Farm. Cal Aggie Christian Association (CA House)- Roll up those sleeves to take part in the beautification process inside and out at CA House. A variety of help is needed, including yard work, gardening, painting, and other property maintenance. Davis Arts Center- Painting and staining are on the agenda for this wonderful project. The Davis Arts Center needs your help with painting several rooms indoors and staining the outside fencing on the property. All supplies are provided, just come in clothing your ok with getting paint or stain on.
International Rescue Committee Sacramento-Refugee Donations. The IRC will be gathering donations of gift cards (preferably Walmart, Ikea, or Target) and welcome kits. For more information about IRC, visit www.rescue.org. Welcome Kits and gift cards will be collected at either the Slide Hill Park Kick-off breakfast, May 19th, from 8am to 9am at 1525 Tulip Lane, Davis, CA. or from 10am to noon a the Latter-Day Saints church, 715 Elmwood Drive, Davis, CA.
