Welcome to Camp Power Summer 2018!
Camp Power is a free, collaborative summer program offered on-site to children and families living in University Village, a subsidized housing development located adjacent to NIU campus.
This culturally relevant, multi-dimensional wellness program offers academics, daily nutritious lunch service, structured physical activities, nutrition education, layered mentoring, life skills training, family engagement activities and exposure to a range of community resources.
Volunteer options include CAMP ACTIVITIES (helping with sports, crafts, etc); FIELDTRIP (chaperone various trips); NUTRITION EDUCATION (help with making healthy snacks and activities); and POWER ACADEMY (help with academics including math, reading, etc). Please check in at the VOLUNTEER TABLE when you arrive to be assigned your group.
